The Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) provides a variety of services that increase the academic preparation, awareness, and motivation of high school students toward higher education.
EAOP is the University of California’s largest academic preparation program
- Increases the academic preparation, awareness, and motivation of high school students toward higher education and informs parents about educational opportunities
- Partners with families, schools, and communities to make students’ college dreams a reality
- Helps students complete all UC/CSU eligibility requirements (the “A-G” classes)
- Advisers help each student prepare an individual educational plan. This plan details the “A-G” classes to take – and when to take them – to prepare for UC and CSU
- Offers workshops to help students prepare for college entrance exams
- Helps students complete college applications and write effective personal statements
- Helps students apply for financial aid, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the California Dream Act Application, grants, and scholarships
- Provides a variety of services year-round, including summer programs, to help students increase their academic performance and prepare for college
- Students at participating EAOP schools are eligible to receive supplemental enrichment opportunities provided by the UC Office of the President (Pre-College Scholars and Achieve UC)
- Has an office on every University of California campus. UC Santa Cruz is home to the programs serving the Pajaro Valley, North Monterey County, and Monterey Peninsula
