Opening and Closing Days
Opening
and Closing Days are an exciting, but very emotional day for students
and their families. Please refer to the "Parent
Quotes" section to see what other parents had to say about
these days.
NOTE: Times and events subject to change.
Opening Day: Sunday, June 29th, 2008
9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Student Check-In: Students will check-in
to their rooms. If you will not be able to arrive during this time,
please inform the COSMOS staff. Parking is available at the Hahn
Building Parking Lot. Shuttles to College Nine will be available.
Please be careful to avoid parking in spaces designated for campus
staff. UCSC Parking Services will ticket anyone who parks illegally.
11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Welcome Luncheon. COSMOS offers a
complimentary lunch to each COSMOS student and one guest. Additional
guests may purchase a luncheon ticket.
12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. COSMOS Welcome and Cluster meetings.
2:30 p.m. Parent Departures: Parents depart and students begin COSMOS life.
Closing Day: Saturday, July 26th, 2008
9 a.m. – 12 p.m. - Cluster Meetings (Location: TBA)
12 p.m. – 1 p.m. - Lunch (Location: TBA)
1 p.m. – 2 p.m. - Closing Remarks (Location: Multipurpose Room)
2 p.m. - Depart: Say goodbyes and enjoy the rest of your summer.
