Directions to COSMOS
Driving directions are indicated below. We will assist in carpool arrangements for those who live far away from Santa Cruz. Shuttle service is available for those who wish to fly. Contact the Santa Cruz Airporter at (831) 423-1214.
Driving from the East Bay
- Take Interstate 880 south toward San Jose.
- I-880 will become Highway 17 south in the city of San Jose.
- Remain on Hwy 17 south for about 32 miles.
- Once out of the Santa Cruz Mountains, take the Hwy 1 north exit toward Half Moon Bay.
- Follow the road signs to the main entrance of UC Santa Cruz.
- Hwy 1 north will turn into Mission Street in the city of Santa Cruz.
- Once on Mission Street, make a right turn onto Bay St.
- Bay St. will take you to the main entrance of campus.
- At the intersection of Bay St. and High St./ Empire Grade, make a left turn onto Empire Grade.
- Follow Empire Grade for three miles to the West entrance of campus on Heller Dr.
- Make a right turn onto Heller Dr. to enter campus.
- Once on campus, follow signs to COSMOS at College Nine.
Driving from the North Bay
- Take Interstate 280 south toward San Jose.
- From I-280 south, take the Hwy 85 south exit toward Gilroy.
- From Hwy 85 south, take the Hwy 17 south exit toward Santa Cruz.
- Remain on Hwy 17 south for about 32 miles.
- Once out of the Santa Cruz Mountains, take the Hwy 1 north exit toward Half Moon Bay.
- Follow the road signs to the main entrance of UC Santa Cruz.
- Hwy 1 north will turn into Mission Street in the city of Santa Cruz.
- Once on Mission Street, make a right turn onto Bay St.
- Bay St. will take you to the main entrance of campus.

Driving from Monterey and Further South
- Take Hwy 101 to Hwy 1 north toward Santa Cruz/Half Moon Bay.
- Hwy 1 north will turn into Mission Street in the city of Santa Cruz.
- Once on Mission Street, make a right turn onto Bay St.
- Bay St. will take you to the main entrance of campus.
- At the intersection of Bay St. and High St./ Empire Grade, make a left turn onto Empire Grade.

Parking
UCSC offers free parking on the weekends. This applies to "general parking" spaces only, not metered spaces or spaces marked as reserved for staff or faculty. Cars that are parked illegally (in spaces designated for others or in areas not designated for parking) may receive a parking ticket.
